YOU WILL SERVE AS AN ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN IN THE FACILITIES & INFRASTRUCTURE MGMT DEPT, FACILITIES PLANNING & ENGINEERING DIV OF FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will provide technical support functions (i.e. planning, programming, budgeting, maintaining, evaluating, and reporting). You will manage and provide facility support requirements by performing daily facility assessments, independently initiating facility maintenance, and responding to tenant/customer requests You will submit, track, and closeout Trouble Calls (TC), Service Requests (SR), and TF-1 requests as applicable. Coordinate and attend leadership-led Gemba Walks and Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Zone Inspections You will maintain an understanding of customer requirements to manage the sustainment of plant equipment through the NAVFAC PM/CM process. Provide assistance with coordinating acquisition and modification of facility equipment to meet the mission. You will assist with selecting the proper conduit sizes as they relate to wire gauge and number of conductors per the National Electrical Code (NEC). You will provide assistance with creating design drawings and sketches using the Computer aided Drafting Program AutoCad 2021.

  • Must obtain and maintain all required certification and/or license as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ability to manage and control different phases in a project; 2) Coordinate and organize meetings with internal and external parties; 3) Build a professional rapport with all those who support the project; 4) Self starter with time management skills; 5) Collaborate with facilities and engineer personnel to design and/or review prints; 6) Professional knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for conduit sizing as it relates to wire gauge and number of conductors. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

1 full year of graduate level education
or
superior academic achievement
