Duties

You will develop program guidance and requirements for an aircraft program. You will develop management plans that align with program goals and objectives. You will analyze local implementation problems and successes to develop recommendations that will increase program efficiency. You will write statement in order to support funding requests. You will monitor the use and rate of expenditure of budgeted funds through continuing dialog with officers and staff.

Requirements

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and/or administering the air operations budget which includes funds provided for operations and maintenance of airfield services; 2) Reviewing estimates submitted by division officers for compliance with agency rules; 3) Monitoring the use and rate of expenditure of budgeted funds through continuing dialog with officers and their staffs; 4) Reviewing written documents and/or accounting records for accuracy; 5) Ensuring all requests for data collection are completed in a timely, efficient, and professional manner; and 6) Coordinating airfield operating hours and/or quiet hours to support tenant and transient aircraft.
