About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force South, Command Group, Protocol Office, U.S. Southern Command, Key West, FL 33040, CGOOP.

Duties

Seeks, identifies, and develops opportunities and oversees planning of, coordination and execution of complex protocol support. Determines program budget goals and develops directives, plans, and procedures for implementation and compliance. Develop new methods and procedures for protocol program including establish precedent and capture incorporation of lessons learned. Participates in meetings, working group sessions and other venues with a broad range of US and international organizations to develop expanded opportunities for international cooperation in counter drug operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be cleared for, and when granted, maintain a Top-Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
  • Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
