Duties
The CDC utilizes Direct/Expedited Hire Authorities to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. This vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications. Duties and responsibilities vary and may increase according to the grade level of the position. Applications may be periodically referred to hiring managers both during the open period and after the closing date. Because of the large number of applications anticipated, applicants' status will not be updated.
This public notice will be used to fill Public Notice for Expedited Hire (College Graduate) - Public Health Advisor, GS-0685 positions at the GS-11 grade level.
Qualifications
Degree Requirements: This appointment will be made under the noncompetitive College Graduate hiring authority. To be eligible an applicant must have received a bachelor's or advanced degree within 2 years of applying for employment under this authority.
Note: For applicants who have completed a degree and served at least 4 years in the uniformed services, the 2-year eligibility period begins on the date of the applicant's discharge or release from the uniformed service.
AND
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level, which must include the following experience: carrying out and promoting public health program activities in local, state, Federal or international settings.
OR
Have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in public health or other field of study with course work directly related to the work of the position to be filled -- OR -- 3 full years of progressively higher-level education leading to such a degree -- OR -- LL.M., if applicable, from an accredited college or university.
OR
Have a combination of education and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirement for this position.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
A copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
