This position is located within the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), Office of the Chief Security Officer (OCSO), Personnel Security Division (PSD). The incumbent serves as a Personnel Security Specialist, performing duties associated with the analysis of personnel security information to make suitability, eligibility, and adjudication recommendations or determinations.

Duties
As a Personnel Security Specialist, GS-0080-7, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Serves as the operational expert to ensure Executive Office of the President (EOP) candidates and current EOP employees meet national standards for security, suitability, and credentialing for employment, retention of employment, and/or eligibility for physical and logical access to facilities and systems, and classified national security information.
Reviews systems, databases, responses to security questionnaires, reports of investigation (ROI), law enforcement documents, incident reports, and other sources of security information that contain candidate personal history and related information to make security, suitability/fitness, and credentialing eligibility adjudication recommendations or determinations.
Requests additional information or documentation as needed to support data analysis.
Provides timely responses to inquiries regarding personnel security processes, status of background investigations, verification of clearance levels and self- reported security information.

- Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standards.
ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
You may qualify at the GS-07 level, if you meet the following minimum qualification requirement:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector which includes: (1) Working with the basic principles, concepts, policies, practices and methods of personnel security administration; (2) Accessing automated systems to obtain investigations and clearance information; and (3) Using automated filing system to track, maintain, and update or control secure and private information.

Education: 1 full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.

A combination of experience and education. (Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements as specified above. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades below GS-12.)
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
