As a Program Manager you are responsible for managing efficiently and actively the planning, scope development, analysis, design, documentation, and review of projects under the major Civil Works and Support for Others (SFO) programs. Providing expert project management for various reservoir project operations and studies, such as: flood plains, river control structures, flood walls, bridges, dams environmental restoration, recreation features and levees.
Duties
Serves as Program and/or Project Manager, responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned projects under a particular Civil Works or alternate Program.
Coordinates the planning, design, cost engineering, construction, and environmental restoration for major Civil Works and Support for Others projects.
Manages and controls project schedule milestones and budgets planning through construction and initial operations.
Reviews and approves, within authorities provided, project cost and schedule changes.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- TDY up to 15% may be required.

Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes providing support to and/or development of scopes, schedules, and budgets for multiple civil works, environmental, military construction, or similar multi-purpose funded programs or projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
