This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO- Info Systems and CIO. As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will serve as a member of the Treasury Shared Services Security Operations Center (TSSSOC) team as an expert in cybersecurity practices.

Duties

As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will: Serve as an IT technical expert in providing expertise in the development and implementation of information security policies and procedures. Ensure measurable progress in meeting the requirements of Section 8 of Executive Order (EO) 14028 on Improving the Nation's Cybersecurity and OMB Memorandum 21-31 (M-21-31) Improving the Federal Government's Investigative and Remediation Capabilities Related to Cybersecurity Responsibilities. Provide active coordination with the TSSSOC Director and TSSSOC Deputy Director on cybersecurity projects. Create new security methods and criteria for cybersecurity governance when needed and acts as an expert in interpreting policy and guidelines for Treasury cybersecurity programs. Consult with top management officials to develop strategies and policies that govern implementation of security and reliability procedures throughout Treasury.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Experience creating security methods and criteria for cybersecurity governance to monitor analytics for early detection and remediation of malicious threats; AND Experience working with a decentralized group in order to ensure cybersecurity compliance. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Education

The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
