You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the FIRE INSPECTION DIVISION of NAS JAX.
Duties
You will implement a fire prevention and fire protection enforcement program to ensure the capability to perform inspections, investigations, and surveys.
You will evaluate engineering plans and specifications on new and modification construction structures.
You will instruct training classes, lectures, and demonstrations on fire protection and prevention.
You will inspect equipment (e.g., fire extinguisher, sprinkler systems, exits) to verify they are fully operational and meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Inspects building and facilities to identify fire hazards and implement corrective actions; 2) Identifies hazardous conditions or practices, evaluates degree of hazard involved, and determines appropriate action to be taken; 3) Develops and conducts training course on fire safety practices and procedures (i.e. fixed and portable fire protection equipment, station fire prevention regulations, special hazardous operations/conditions, home and/or work practices, etc.) for military and civilian employees, contractors, and dependents; 4) Provides guidance to supervisors, employees, and the general populace on fire safety and fire protection. NOTE: This experience must be supported by your resume.
This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I/II and Fire Inspector II. You will have one year to complete and attain Public Fire and Life Safety Educator required certification. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFAC, or ProBoard to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached proof of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible.
