This position is in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A). The incumbent serves as the Supervisory Budget Analyst in Financial Resources Management (FRM) Division. The incumbent performs budgetary functions.
Duties
As a Supervisory Budget Analyst, GS-0560-14, your typical work assignments may include:
Experience in Financial Management, understanding the Federal Budget process and associated policies/regulations.
Experience in applying analytical and evaluative techniques, skills, and methods to apply and complete evaluations and/or measurements of financial management programs.
Experience leading and managing a team to ensure deliverables are completed timely and accurately.
Experience Communicating effectively with team members and leadership to make recommendations, defend, explain, or promote assigned program initiatives.
Reviews, approves, disapproves, and recommends the amount and timing of allotments of funds to agency components and programs. Develops proposed appropriation language in support of new or revised program and budgetary requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Drug-Free Workplace Program.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Overtime may be required in response to a significant event.
- Occasional Travel - Overnight travel may be required.
- Relocation expenses are not authorized
Qualifications
To qualify for the GS-14 grade level, you must possess the specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, or equivalent to private sector experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
Experience directing the preparation of estimates and justification for projected operating budgets and estimates for future budgetary requirements.
Experience leading monthly, quarterly, and mid-year reviews of execution rates and/or appropriations and basic financial plan performance.
Experience monitoring the execution of approval financial plans and recommending the programming of resources.
Education
Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
