Duties

You will establish and maintain an Information Assurance (IA) process monitoring program to ensure ongoing compliance with all IA policies, procedures and practices. You will review the results of the monitoring program and initiate and recommend corrective actions as appropriate for any identified deficiencies in the policies, processes, and practices or in the monitoring program. You will establish and operate a program to conduct monitoring and analysis of the IT systems in areas of security, intrusion, detection and systems vulnerabilities. You will conduct investigations of these incidents and report the results to the appropriate chain of command and to the law enforcement authorities in accordance with established policy. You will develop, maintain and execute a process to monitor IA related training, certification and authorization requirements for personnel with access to IT systems. You will utilize formal and informal methodologies to socialize information related to IA best practices, policy changes, etc. among the personnel with access to the IT systems. You will be available to the user community to answer general questions and provide authoritative guidance related to IA policy and practice.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 722-Info Systems Security Manager, proficiency level Intermediate incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and DON policies.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to your experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-03 pay band or GS-9/10 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Overseeing the remediation of Information Assurance (IA) Violations, analysis of vulnerabilities, threats, and other risks to systems; 2)Executing Assess and Authorizations using the Risk Management Framework; 3) Conducting forensic imaging for legal purposes; 4) Demonstrating technical writing skills to include authorship of Information Technology policies, procedures, plans for diverse audience levels.
