Duties
As a Human Resources Specialist at the NH-0201-3 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Knowledge of Air/Space Force Military Personnel in/out-processing, evaluation and military awards to include a firm understanding of the Department of the Air Force fitness and Leave programs. Work completed per Department of the Air Force Instructions.
Performs wide variety of analytical duties connected with planning, prioritizing, justifying, directing, controlling, managing, and implementing military personnel actions. Contributes to the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of the agency operations through training and responding to management requirements.
Have a firm understanding and how to effectively use Department of the Air Force Personnel systems such as Military Personnel Data System (MILPDS), Talent Marketplace, SalesForce (myfss/myeval), Personnel Records Display Application (PRDA), Base Level Service Delivery Model (BLSDM), Leaveweb, Assignment Management System (AMS), Virtual In/Out-processing (VOP).
Advisory services provided are broad in scope and consistently reflect all major facets of the military personnel management program of the organization, a mastery of Department of the Air Force personnel management policies and practices of the DoD, and keen awareness of the best business practices used in support of assigned military staff.
Manage and process Department of the Air Force personnel retirements and separations procedures.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the NH-03 if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience using Air Force and Space Force personnel management and organization practices, planning and evaluating complex personnel functions in order to develop and implement effective Department of the Air Force (DAF) processes to include use of DAF automated personnel and administrative systems, capabilities and proactive usage to effectively complete assignments.
Experience of Department of the Air Force Military HR principles, concepts, regulations, and practices, analytical methods and techniques, and seasoned consultative skill sufficient to plan and evaluate, and communicate and support flag officers and staff.
Experience as a technical advisor in significant management planning, policy and decision-making actions in a Joint Agency with strong customer service background and the ability to solve complex personnel and administrative challenges.
Experience creating and maintaining tools to assist in the identification and timely processing of military awards, evaluations, and promotion recommendation forms to Service Headquarters.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
