Qualifications
Skills and Knowledge: Must be able to work independently. Ability to handle all aspects of rooms assigned, including but not limited to: Inventory and restocking of supplies and amenities. Knowledge of proper usage of common cleaning tools, cleaning agents and industrial type vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners and buffers, preferred. Must be able to identify and call in for repair all maintenance problems; alert management when problems concerning guest treatment of quarters occurs; makes independent decisions regarding property and supplies in rooms such as stained furniture, carpets, damaged linen and supplies. Must be able to read signs, follow written and oral instructions. Responsibility: The immediate supervisor will furnish general and technical instructions, training, and be available for assistance when required. The work is performed independently according to established policies, practices, and procedures. Work is spot checked to adherence to instructions, completeness, quantity and quality.Physical Effort: Work requires constant standing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting of objects. Climbs ladders and operates industrial equipment. Frequently pushes carts loaded with dirty laundry or waste paper and trash. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. Working Conditions: Work is normally performed indoors under normal conditions, some duties required may be outside and will expose incumbent to heat, cold, and varying types of weather. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment, possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, strains, sprains, and skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions. Care is required to avoid injuries when working on ladders. MISSION ESSENTIAL STATUS: This position is designated ¿Mission Essential¿. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (nature or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
