Duties
Responsible for monitoring, evaluating and providing policy guidance and technical advice regarding distribution functions including receiving, storage, issue, stock readiness, packaging, assembly processes, and special missions.
Interprets policy and provides a standard interpretation of systems, missions, and procedures to distribution center commanders.
Performs management improvement studies, collects data, and participates in the development of recommendations.
Assists in the establishment of operational guidelines and makes recommendations for changes based on physical layouts. mechanized material handling systems, and automated data processing systems.
Provides subject matter expertise by participating in technical analysis and testing, and prepares impact statements for user information.
Prepares staff level reports and charts and presentations to Command-level management.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supply Management Specialist your resume and supporting documents must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Analyzing program data/interrelationships and coordinating the preparation of accurate and reasonable program plans and proposals; Developing detailed plans, goals and objectives for long range plans and/or developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the command distribution programs; and Investigating and analyzing a variety of distribution problems, conditions or questions, formulating projects or studies, and establishing criteria for assigned specialization area.
