About the Position: This position is located with the ILSC, Field Support Operations Materiel MGT & FLDG Materiel FLDG & TRNG DIR in Warren MI
Duties
Manages curriculum and training materials as training specialist responsible for overarching functions of NET development and management.
Trains in classroom or motor pool environments using a mix of training products and hands-on training as needed.
Responsible for training management such as setting up a classroom or training area, coordinating tools that are needed to execute training, tracking student attendance and participation, and managing student records.
Provides mission and instructor feedback to team lead and supervisor on all mission elements.
Responsible to maintain system knowledge, skills, abilities and expertise for operation and maintenance.
Leads, provides input to, or assists in developing training products with oversight from team lead or supervisor.
Provides overall maintenance of their assigned courses and determines the need for and initiates changes/updates in course content
Requirements
- Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 Months. Term appointments may be extended beyond 6 years, up to 8 years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond 8 years.
- Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- The incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Travel Card.
- When required participate in hazardous material training.
- The incumbent may be required to handle Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL).
- The incumbent is required to wear and use of prescribed personnel protective equipment.
- The position requires working in adverse conditions or outdoors in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperatures and in-climate weather.
- The position requires working in loud environments to include but not limited to the motor pool, weapons live fire range, and explosive ordnance.
- The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- The position requires working on, in and around, climbing up on, entering vehicles and operating in confined spaces.
- The position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 75% of the time.
- The incumbent is required to obtain the initial instructor certification required with recertification required every 5 years after the initial.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
