About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL FORT BELVOIR, VA. The GG-09 is a developmental position full performance GG-11. Noncompetitive promotion potential to target grade.

Duties

Conducts intake for Inspector General Action Requests (IGARs) received by walk in, telephone, online portal, or referred through the Inspector General Network (IGNET) to include ensuring the DA 1559 is properly filled. Performs all office management duties independently, to include advanced administrative tasks, travel, communication, staffing, and organizational effectiveness. As the Administrative Management Specialist (AMS), coordinates throughout the office to ensure policies are carried out and ensure efficient workflow of administrative processes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph examination, with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-employment and periodic basis if required for Special Access Program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Must pass a Department of the Army Inspector General background screening.
  • Required to attend and successfully complete the Department of the Army Inspector General Course in order to perform the duties of this position.
  • This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel to INSCOM units worldwide to conduct inspections and investigations at 35% or less of the time.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • The conduct of inspections requires extended periods of standing and walking.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
