Duties
You will be responsible for the Family Child Care Program to include implementation of developmentally appropriate programs, financial management, program operations and compliance.
You will serve as subject matter expert, educational advisor, role model, and resource person.
You will recruit, screen, train, monitor, support and certify Family Child Care providers.
You will review qualifications and suitability of Family Child Care providers, substitutes, and designated family members.
You will develop integrated budget input and prepare justification for funding of programs, food service, subsidies, and other resource requirements.
You will assure Family Child Care homes comply with health, fire, security, and safety, and environmental standards and regulatory guidance.
You will conduct home visits to resolve reported instances of unauthorized care.
You will work with providers to develop curriculum to meet needs of individual children.
Requirements

- You must be able to lift 35 lbs.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing the operation of a child care center; selecting, training, and supervising child care and preschool employees, family child care providers, or other care-giving adults; developing and implementing child development programs, including family day care programs, part-day preschool programs, and before and after school programs; and working with individuals and groups to solve complex problems related to the care and education of children.

Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirements from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Applicants must possess a degree that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position
OR
A degree that included child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education (early childhood emphasis), or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled;
OR
a degree that included education in child care administration in addition to child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled.
OR
A combination of education and experience in which courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows:
Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree,
OR
Two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. The required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
