This position is located in the Government Accountability Office, Strategic Planning and External Liaison (SPEL). As a Program Analyst you will serve as a liaison between GAO, federal, state, and local officials providing expertise in the areas of planning, coordinating, and executing intergovernmental audit forums.

Duties

As a Program Analyst, PT-0343-3, your typical work assignments may include the following: - Develops and implements communications action plans to support the Audit Forum Executive Committee including maintaining and continuously coordinating meetings, agendas, registrations, speaker presentations, and fully utilizing various communication methods and tools to prepare and send information to confirm forum attendees. - Uses qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to analyze, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of internal ,administrative, organizational, and management operations of the regional audit forums. - Develops consistent policies and procedures that govern the work of the audit forum and makes recommendations to improve program operations. - Develops strategies and integrates action plans to measure program accomplishments, results, and effectiveness. - Performs special assignments that are of major significance in the accomplishment of the Intergovernmental Audit Forum; and develops and provides briefings and reports for the Director and senior managers on status of programs and operations.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the BAND-PT-III level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: This position requires applicants to have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band, equivalent to the PE-IIA, PT-II, or GS-13 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience applying project management principles and methodologies, including establishing schedules and deadlines, tracking and organizing a large number of simultaneous projects and directing agency-wide groups to meet milestones.
