You will serve as a LEAD HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (OA) in the Center for Employee Records & Applicant Inquiries (CERAI) of OCHR SAN DIEGO OPERATIONS CENTER.

Duties

You will assist in the development and presentation of metrics and performance indicators to provide supervisor and organizational leaders with common situational awareness. You will serve as a subject matter expert, resolve a variety of specialized issues (e.g. coordination of efforts, spot-check result implications, automated system errors/workarounds, etc.) inherent from the work performed by the team. You will distribute and balance workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization considering skill levels and equity of assignments. You will provide merit promotion and delegated examining information and assistance to internal and external applicants, for a variety of positions ranging from clerical, administrative, technical, professional and crafts and trades. You will serve as a primary focal point for resolution of difficult problems, handling applicant and employee complaints, researching the origin of problems, identifying systemic causes, and ensuring appropriate and timely corrective action.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing accurate and timely information on general employment and Department of the Navy recruitment processes.
