The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.
Duties
Serves the organization as an expert analyst engaged in assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of major complex management processes and systems.
Participates in formal and informal meetings conferences, committees, and seminars with representatives of other functional areas, managers, and representatives of other/higher command, industry and academia.
Solves day-to-day technical problems to assure timely and successful project completion.
Incumbent translates complex technical and business requirements into procurement work statements and associated procurement documentation using skilled knowledge of regulatory guidance, management and acquisition methods and contracting strategy.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Contracting Professional Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.

- Appointment to this position is subject to a three-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Experience with contracts, statement of works, procurement, and/or purchasing related activities 2) Proposing various contract methods for the acquisition of systems 3) Experience managing a contract across the acquisition life cycle. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DE-02/GS-05-11).
