Duties
This position is located in the Directorate of Industrial Operations, at Letterkenny Army Depot, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Proof test electronic equipment to ensure procedures are within acceptable tolerances.
Perform operational checkout of advanced electronic assemblies in accordance with outlined procedures.
Repair and/or replace parts of hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems.
Troubleshoot malfunction on highly complex electronic equipment.
Coordinate with local engineers to provide technical input on operating or equipment matters.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be willing to accept a temporary position.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a physical examination annually and thereafter.
- Must be willing to obtain enrollment in the Respiratory Protection Program.
- Business travel/temporary duty (TDY) may be required up to 25% of the time.

Perform common Electronic Mechanic duties such as operate various testing equipment; and repair/replace pneumatic and electronic systems parts. Work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT
Work involves standing, bending, stooping and protracted periods at consoles. Continuously handles objects weighing 40 pounds. Weight handling equipment or the assistance of other employees is available for heavier lifts.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normally works in well lighted, heated and ventilated shop areas. May work in an environmentally controlled area. Works closely with others or alone. Safety shoes, safety glasses, and gloves required. Subject to high frequency noise, cuts, bruises, and burns or shocks caused by high voltage energy. Also, may be required to wear special protective clothing including head and shoe covering.
