The primary purpose of this position is to administer and direct the Group Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the full complement of activities within the Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS).
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Plans, organizes, and executes all Group information management and personnel activities.
Manages training programs for administration and personnel in accordance with established command guidelines.
Serves as the Group point of contact and liaison with the servicing Force Support Squadron on personnel and manpower actions.

- PCS expenses are not authorized. Travel and Relocation expenses will not be paid.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include developing internal procedures or policies related to personnel management such as promotions, demotions, in processing, training, separations, retirements, extensions, transfers, etc.; preparing, maintaining, and disposing of required administrative reports and other correspondence in accordance with office policy/regulations; collaborating with specialists from the personnel office and/or officials from bargaining unit to address staffing problems; and applying investigative techniques and analysis to determine adequacy or deficiencies of programs.
OR
EDUCATION: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree or two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D.,(if related) in a field related to the position being filled. Education at the graduate level must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours may be combined with experience. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
In-depth knowledge of administrative and military personnel policies, procedures, Reserve mission, training methods and programs, rules, guidelines, and instructions as well as knowledge of management principles within both the civilian and military personnel systems, and the ability to integrate the civilian and military personnel aspects in order to successfully accomplish the organization's mission.
In-depth knowledge of the automated systems, personal computers, hardware, and software.
Ability to analyze data/products.
Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and staff of an organization; communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of training goals and objectives to assist in the management and implementation of training goals for the CSS personnel.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
