About the Position: Serve as Supervisor over the Production Tooling Division.
Duties
Plan and assign work to subordinates, involving tool design and build, NC programing, production methods development and analysis, and work measurement.
Reviews and assists with programs, program prove-outs, and trouble-shooting of machine, program, tooling, and fixture problems.
Review work completed, accepting, amending or rejecting work, as appropriate.
Evaluate the effectiveness of operations of the Divisions in terms of mission accomplishment, quality and quantity of standards mets, and technical competence.
Plan work on a long-range basis.
Set goals and objectives; establish overall priorities and responsibilities for the Divisions.
Attend meeting and conferences to obtain, exchange and present technical results pertaining to assigned projects.
Represent the organization on identified production problems with contractors and other government agencies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

Qualifications
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 1 year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning work and establishing deadlines to be accomplished by subordinates; designing, planning, or estimating tooling and gauges required in the manufacture and assembly of products; troubleshooting tool and production problems to determine cause of problems; and recommending modifications to fix tool or production problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
