About the Position: Position is located at the Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Laboratory at Tripler Army Medical Center which is on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii.

Duties

Point of contact for all specimens received by the Laboratory. Provide general guidance consisting of policy and objectives. Responsible for preparing memoranda, correspondence, recurring reports, and other laboratory documentation that is generally free of format, spelling, and grammatical errors. Preform technical and administrative support functions as necessary. Receive, inventory and process specimens.

GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes: communicating with customers and personnel, assisting the supervisor with inventory management and utilizing automation software and hardware to complete tasks. OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: receiving urine specimens; updating an electronic tracking database showing the storage of specimens; and assisting with the preparation of laboratory documentation for use in legal proceedings. OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Chemistry, or Forensic Science. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
