This position is located at Departmental Offices, Management CFO- Info Systems and CIO. As an IT Specialist (SENIOR CLOUD ARCHITECT), you will be responsible for leading operational service methodologies including but not limited to, incident management, communications, problem management, change management, capacity management and customer support.

Duties

As an , IT Specialist (SENIOR CLOUD ARCHITECT) you will: Assist in providing cost estimates for new or modified procurements and contracts in support of cloud migrations. Supports the business intake process as a technical cloud expert by mapping requirements to cloud services, level of effort estimation, and estimating costs and benefits of different cloud solutions; informs decisions on cloud investments. Reviews and analyzes existing policies and procedures to determine if they are congruent with the Cloud technology being implemented. The incumbent develops and/or modifies policies for senior management approval in order to merge the new technology requirements with the existing legislative requirements and spirit of existing policy. Analyze findings and develop long-range plans for security systems that minimize risks, mitigate vulnerabilities, prevent security incidents, and insure systems reliability.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the GS-14: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following: Experience in IT operations, project management, systems engineering, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud computing technologies and current computing trends; AND Experience with Cloud Architecture & Integration, Cloud Implementation/Migration, and Cloud Data and Security. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
