This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO- Info Systems and CIO. As an Information Technology Specialist (APPSW), you will be Evaluating new application software technologies for evolving, important missions. Analyzing and refining unique or experimental software requirements. Writing and maintaining program documentation.

Duties

As an Information Technology Specialist (APPSW), you will: Provide leadership and expert advice in determining and designing complex, customized applications, in analyzing and refining systems requirements, and in testing and troubleshooting applications/enhancements that are in development. Assure new software and systems quality and functionality throughout agency operations. Execute test cycles according to test plans and test procedure specifications using test automation software, tools, and utilities; and Monitoring the test cycle for correctness and completeness.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as proven proficiency and experience (as evidenced in the resume) in the following: Experience working as part of a Quality Assurance (QA) team and engaging with internal and external IT groups, Functional Specialists, Program Managers, Help Desk Analysts, and/or Technical Architects; AND Experience developing testing scripts, scenarios and working with defect management tools; AND Experience with large scale ERP systems integrating with other enterprise systems for human resources, financials, recruiting, performance management, succession planning, learning and development, workforce analytics, metrics and ad-hoc reporting, benefits and compensation. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
