About the Position:
Serve as the Director of Strategy and Policy within the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Army (DUSA). Leads and manages a team tasked with planning, directing, organizing, and executing Army Secretariat oversight of policy, security, strategy, and other areas.
The position is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.
Duties
Serve as civilian lead for strategy and policy and supervises a team of strategists, policy experts, and other staff members dedicated to advancing these same responsibilities and objectives.
Develop and review policy recommendations on a range of strategic issues.
Communicate the preferences, views, and priorities of the Secretary of the Army to the strategic planning community on a continuous basis.
Assign work based upon priorities, complexity of work assignments, and the capabilities and job descriptions of the individual employees.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
