This position is part of the Missile Defense Agency.
Duties
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-3 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Assist with the direction, development, and performance of multi-functional logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission.
Identify the specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services required to support the Program Manager's (PM) cost, schedule and performance objectives.
Correlate PM objectives with Program plans to assure that the required logistics support is provided at the right time and place.
Coordinate and evaluate logistics support in accordance with Performance Based Logistics (PBL) to identify and execute specific requirements, identify and mitigate risk, and to develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions required to meet each requirement on time.
Research and develop Department of Defense (DoD) and MDA logistics directives and instructions.
Coordinate with higher level specialists to jointly research and develop readiness and logistics plans, strategies, and procedures focusing on delivering a BMDS capability that is effective, efficient, and supportable to meet operational requirements.

- Position requires DoD Acquisition certification coded Foundational in Life Cycle Logistics within required timeframes.
- Must obtain mandatory Back to Basics (B2B) certification within 36 months of entry into position.
- Must achieve 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every 2-years.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the NH-03 broadband level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
(Candidates must meet at least 2 of the 5 specialized experience requirements)
Experience applying logistics processes, policies, procedures, and practices necessary to develop and assess technical and economic feasibility, including cost, schedule and performance.
Experience researching, planning, coordinating, and briefing logistics actions in support of leadership's goals and vision.
Experience working with and across executive staffs, joint staffs, commands, agencies and the services.
Experience identifying and applying the concepts, policies, and practices of logistics management as they apply to new and legacy systems during the sustainment phase of the life cycle.
Experience developing and implementing training plans and activities for military weapon systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
