About the Position: This position serves as a Logistics Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Materiel Command Logistics Support Activity, Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Duties

Represent the command in conferences and working groups for assigned logistics databases. Ensure integration of an effective database system meets customer requirements at all echelon levels. Provide input in the development of Logistics Information Systems Under the purview of a senior Logistics Management Specialist, develop and maintain appropriate documentation and functional user instructions. Prepare reports concerning Logistics Management Information Systems Analysis. Apply analytical techniques to issues concerning logistics systems.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Percentage of time to be spent temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is 25%.

Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which developing the functional requirement documentation necessary to accomplish the operation; utilizing automated logistics information systems to support business processes and management of associated data; and researching and resolving systems issues and identifying logistics program requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceInformation ManagementSystems Life CycleTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
