Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Operations Command (SpOC) at Peterson Space Force Base is searching for a Master Process Officer (NH-0343-03). Description: To serve as a technical authority/lead project facilitator across the Field Command for the Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CI2) and Enterprise Change Management (ECM) initiative. Advises management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducts special studies, facilitates CI2 events, mentors Lean Six Sigma candidates through training, consults for GAIN and AFWERX Innovation efforts, and proposes options and alternatives representing the Force until more positions are built. Focal point for ECM/CI2 collaboration across other Field Commands and Headquarters Space Staff, and teammates through the SAF/MGB - MPO community. Ideal Candidate: - A proven track record of positive, root cause linked event facilitation with A3 registered on the CI2 portal/PML. - Black Belt experience through Certification of Green Belt candidates. If Black Belt certified outside of the DAF system, must obtain SAF/MGB certification within 1 year of assignment. - Masters in Business Administration or Organizational Management with focus areas of Project Management. - Highly experienced in return on investment and business case analysis creation. - Has lead Strategic Alignment and Deployment events (MVPs are Critical to organization success). - Has experience in Manpower, understanding studies, variances, and/or FTE workload factors. - Experience in launching GAIN and AFWERX innovation ideas. - Must possess COR level II or obtain within 1 year. Experience in Personnel, Financial, and Core Data Systems used to manage the Space Force and data familiarity of a DAF employee of all ranks, and types. - PMP, SCRUM Master, Design thinking, Agile certified, ECM certified. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of command organizational structure and its supporting elements and programs, missions, policies, goals, and philosophies. 2. Knowledge of effective training principles, techniques, and tools required to design, develop, instruct, evaluate, improve, and conduct training/course content. 3. Knowledge of process improvement techniques such as Lean Six Sigma, benchmarking, metric/statistical analysis, and process flow charting. 4. Knowledge of Enterprise Change Management techniques and tools such as Prosci's methodology, Kotter's 8-step model, Association of Change Management Professionals' Standard for Change and the Change Management Maturity Model. 5. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to a broad range of functional areas related to CI2, such as Value Stream mapping, Theory of Constraints, and critical path process mapping. 6. Skill to develop innovative and feasible solutions to complex issues in which the boundaries are broad and difficult to determine in advance. 7. Ability to integrate and coordinate multiple and related missions, functions, subjects, issues, and situations across echelons to present and recommend solutions in a logical, cohesive format.

  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
  • Consults Innovation ideas through GAIN and AFWERX Innovation initiatives through Command and into industry partners, as appropriate.
  • Develops a 3-8 step problem solving model and presents data driven results to obtain consensus/approval.
