This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of the Chief Information Office (OCIO). OCIO is focused on improving operational efficiencies, cost reduction and avoidance, strengthening OJP's mission capabilities by implementing an enterprise shared service strategy, and by provisioning enterprise processing solutions for OJP's bureaus and offices enabling them to increase public safety and improve the fair administration of justice.
Duties
Serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Oversees identification and evaluation of new and emerging cyber security and grants management technologies.
Advises on business expertise to align technology-related decisions with the organization's goals.
Supports OJP by making sound strategic decisions on cyber security and grants management solutions/investments.
Serves as OJP's expert on oversight of national programs with precedent-setting issues.
Serves as the principal advisor to the CIO on technical concepts and emerging technologies in support of business operations.

Qualifications
Selective Placement Factor:
Experience with contemporary cloud-based solution delivery practices integrating SaaS/PaaS/IaaS and
shared services using a governed API-centric approach.

Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Provides advice, guidance, and assistance in formulating and/or articulating policies regarding, positions concerning, and responses to current, emerging, or anticipated IT developments.
Plans and/or manages IT projects involving innovative concepts or approaches where precedents do not exist.
Evaluates missions, goals, plans, business processes, and/or programs, and develops and/or implements enterprise architecture strategies.
Provides technical advice and counsel to management and/or other key officials on matters relating to new or modified basic policies and programs that affect or relate to current and existing functions and programs.
Identifies opportunities for Artificial Intelligence adoption and aligns them with organization's broader objectives.
