This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Lenexa Federal Records Center. The incumbent will assist the Director in the overall operations and programs concerned with receipt, arrangement, storage, preservation, and safeguarding of records, and for providing reference service on such records.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a Supervisory Archives Specialist, you will:
Monitor ARCIS Business Intelligence (BI) reports to ensure work activities comply with customer service standards set forth in the Interagency Terms and Conditions.
Determine daily staff needs based on backlog and incoming agency workload projections.
Advise, counsel, or instruct individuals on administrative policies and procedures.
Analyze the organizational structure and procedures of the operation for possible improvements to the workflow and methods within the area centers.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To be qualified for this position at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Scheduling, transferring, and disposing of records; AND
Leading teams or projects; AND
Analyzing work systems.
To be qualified for this position at the GS-11 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Scheduling, transferring, and disposing of records; AND
Leading teams or projects.
OR
EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.
OR
COMBINATION: You may combine experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-11, you must have been at the GS-09level for 52 weeks.
