You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (OA) in the Marine Corps Base in Quantico of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will assist and provide personnel with guidance on applicable procedures, instructions, and regulations pertaining to official correspondence in the preparation of official correspondence per the Naval Correspondence manual.
You will respond to routine nontechnical requests regarding status, reports, meeting schedules, duty status of respective member, and suspense dates for action items based on information from the files provided by other offices.
You will be the liaison with the Installation civilian manpower training officer in the maintenance and tracking of yearly civilian workforce training for office civilians and supervisors of civilians ensuring all training is timely.
You will Prepare reports using word processing software, spreadsheets, databases, or presentation software to provide managerial support.
You will assist the office timekeeper to maintain time and leave records.
You will assist the supply management officer, monitors personal accountable property inventories and asset management activities.
You will assist the office travel clerk make travel arrangements and prepare travel orders and travel vouchers.
You will utilize automation equipment and a wide range of software programs to provide support in timekeeping, purchasing/procurement, supply management, travel, personnel management and inventory control.
You will perform digital file management such as scanning paper documents, uploading documents to data management software, saving and organizing file archives.
You will maintain the branch credit card insuring its proper use with Fiscal Law guidelines and prompt timely payment of bills.
You will reconcile purchase records with credit card invoices in accordance with policy and procedures.
You will monitor records and documents of procurement actions to ensure compliance with procurement policy.
You will maintain branch vehicle inventory roster and coordinate utilization and maintenance.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
For GS-6
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: operating office computers and related office equipment utilizing integrated software programs general clerical and management based and ability to multi-task and prioritize work using attention to detail, problem solving skills, written and verbal communication skills.
For GS-5
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: operating office computers and related office equipment utilizing integrated software programs general clerical and management based.
