Duties

You will be responsible for providing timely electromagnetic spectrum support, minimize harmful interference, and spectrum certification. You will be responsible for the coordination, analysis, and assignment of frequency resources to satisfy local commands. You will conduct studies of DON radio frequency assignments; analyze frequency allotments and assignment plans, frequency allocation tables, and documented changes to the Radio Regulations. You will provide support and recommendations to NORAD/Northern Command, as the Marine Component for operational forces, for operations, training, integration and experimentation.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Knowledge and expertise of the Electromagnetic Spectrum and Frequency allocation. (2) Experience with Satellite Communications, Satellite Access Requests, and Gateway access Requests. (3) Knowledge and experience with Electromagnetic Spectrum and SATCOM operations tools such as Spectrum XXI, Satellite Database-Management Tool (SDB-MT), Joint Integrated SATCOM Tool (JIST), Joint SATCOM Management and Planning System (JSMPS), and Global Broadcast Service Satellite Broadcast Manager (GBS SBM). (4) Knowledge and experience with Global Broadcast Services and processing requests thereof.
