You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the industrial quality department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Duties

Requirements

Qualifications
GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience: 1) A demonstrated practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas; 2) Review production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements; 3) Review written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans; 4) Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system; 5) Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods.
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience: 1) Demonstrating knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas such as aircraft paint, E-2 aircraft, and Vertical Lift aircraft; 2) Performing analysis by reviewing sketches, engineering drawings and data, pertinent specifications, and available equipment to identify characteristics critical to product acceptability; 3) Conducting inspections and audits of materials, products, processes, and services for conformance to specifications and requirements.; 4) Analyzing data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality or verification program; 5) Preparing technical reports documenting inspections, testing results, or deficiencies and recommending corrective action.
