Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Assistant Secretary - Insular and International Affairs, Office of International Affairs, Washington, DC.
At the full performance level (GS-15) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Works collaboratively with INT and ASIIA leadership including to develop program priorities for the ASIIA hallway.
2) Oversees and develops work products such as technical analysis, talking points, proposals and counterproposals, letters, Departmental Manual Chapters, joint communiques, and draft legislation.
3) Provides expert analysis of current and emerging priority issues and conducts analytical, organizational and program reviews to help ensure effective and efficient program accomplishment.
4) Leads long-term special programs or projects for INT and top Departmental management, providing direction and leadership to accomplish high priority Assistant Secretary and Secretarial objectives.
5) Designs, plans, and participates in management assessment studies to determine the effectiveness of programs and develops innovative and often novel approaches and recommendations to address systemic
problems and improve program operations.
The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Washington, DC Salary Information
GS-15: $163,694 - $191,900 per annum.
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-15, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) preparing written documents such as briefing materials, policies, slide presentations, and reports for review and use by organizational leadership; 2) monitoring milestones to report on progress of project or program priorities; and 3) analyzing organizational priorities to determine impact on program performance. Must meet all.
