You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT in the LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT, CDR, NAVAL CONSTRUCTION GROUP TWO of 20THNAVALCONSTRREG.

Duties

You will serve as Subject Matter Expert on TAD travel regulations, transportation schedules, fares, and procedures, passport requirements, and foreign clearance requirements to include all NATO requirements for NATO sponsored countries. You will corresponds, interface and coordinate with multiple commands to ensure funding and travel authorizations are accurate. You will review all Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) travel orders, Invitational Travel Orders (ITO) and assists the Financial Defense Administrator (FDTA) with Cross Organization Funding requests. You will be responsible for reviewing individual passenger travel requirements for accuracy and validity. You will be responsible for identifying and monitoring delinquent cardholders and actively monitoring the status of travel claims and payments. You will serve as the Deputy Agency Program Coordinator (APC) for the Department of Defense Charge Card (GTCC) Program for the command. You will research, compile and submit monthly delinquency reports for Naval Construction Group TWO and subordinate commands to higher headquarters.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases and meet all criteria to serve as the GTCC Approving Official.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience interpreting and implementing Federal travel and funding regulations, policies, and procedures. Experience managing travel budget requests, compiling and creating travel phasing plans, tracking travel fund utilization/travel budget planning. Experience reviewing and validating travel requests to ensure all itineraries, appropriate modes of travel and carriers are satisfactory. Experience initiating all request for unused ticket refunds and monitoring the Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) for all refund payments. Experience providing quality assurance tracking of funding through travel claim review and analysis. Experience researching funding discrepancies.
