Duties

You will serve a Rigger Supervisor in the Diver Support Branch (Code 970), Production Department (Code 900) in Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Naval Station - Norfolk, Virginia. You will exercise supervisory responsibilities over the work operations and be responsible for supervising workers in accomplishing trades and labor work operations. You will plan weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. You will establish deadlines and priorities on the basis f general work schedules, methods, and policies established by higher levels of supervision.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE *Ability to plan the use of subordinate workers equipment, facilities, material on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis, and schedule and approve leave of subordinates. *Ability to establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by higher level supervisors. *Ability to participate with their superiors in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budgets requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. *Ability to identify employee training needs and initiate recommendations to provide necessary training and develop performance standards, counsels employees on performance, and make formal and informal performance appraisals.
