Duties
You will serve as a Deputy Cost Manager (DCM) assigned to the Fleet Readiness Directorate (FRD) of the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR).
You will monitor and control costs to achieve efficiencies and "should cost" savings as well as support cost modeling and analysis.
You will enable data driven decisions based on installation cost trends, and requirements.
You will be responsible for financial health monitoring, control, and reporting.
You will assist the Cost Manager with Installation Contract Readiness Reviews (ICRR) and chairing in their absence when necessary.
You will support the Cost Manager by tracking and assessing financial trends and develop mitigations for all NAVWAR installations.
Requirements

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11/DP-02 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience tracking and assessing financial trends in government contracting with demonstrated ability to make recommendations on installation costs compared to budget and possible alternatives.
