Duties
You will assist in the management of financial resources for the MCCOG.
You will perform a wide range of analytical, technical, and administrative duties in the formulation, presentation, justification, execution, and review of the MCCOG's Financial Management programs and appropriated budgets.
You will analyze financial and budgetary relationships to develop recommendations for actions under complex and unusual conditions and time constraints that lack predictive data and require interpretation of guidelines to perform the work.
You will perform analytical, technical, and administrative duties during the budget formulation and execution phases of the budget administration process. Formulates budgets and estimates to support short- and long plans, programs, and activities.

You will monitor, identify, and resolve execution issues for MCCOG Budget Execution. Provides weekly updates and recommendations to the Accounting Officer to identify possible shortfalls and under-execution of funds.
You will be review and audit procurement purchases for the command.
You will write and collect documentation related to operational funding purchases and ensures all Defense Agency Initiative (DAI) transactions are completed to meet prescribed deadlines and in accordance with the MCCOG’s plans.
You will monitor contract payment voucher transactions in DAI to ensure contract obligations appropriately post and make corrections when needed.
You will use DAI to gather and analyze information. Reviews, compares, and reconciles data on financial reports. Takes corrective action to ensure formal accounting records are correct.

- This is a Financial Management Level l certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays due to unplanned operations or unique situations.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience at the next lower grade would be demonstrated by:
Knowledge of MCCOG, USMC, DoN, and DoD federal financial management and budgetary policies and regulations, applying experience and sound judgement to identify discrepancies and develop command fiscal processes and policies.
Knowledge of various software packages and automated systems to include, but not limited to, DAI, Defense Travel System (DTS), Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF), Global Combat Support Systems- Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), and Electronic Document Access to ensure the appropriate utilization of Marine Corps accounting and reporting systems.
Skill in applying budgetary policies, regulations of the budget formulation, budget execution, and mission workload management in a working capital funding environment sufficient to analyze and evaluate continual changes in program plans, funding.
Skill in analyzing budgetary relationships and developing recommendations for budgetary actions to identify short and rapidly changing program and budgetary deadlines and objectives.
Ability to analyze, forecast, and interpret complex fiscal and managerial problems to mitigate the risk of issues incurred in budget execution.
Ability to research and compile managerial and quantitative data to validate updates and changes in guidance and regulations.
Ability to realign automated financial systems to track and report accurate metrics of Financial Management Programs.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to articulate the goals of the Financial Management Program.
