About the Position: This is for a Readiness Specialist position with the US Army Space & Missile Defense Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3, Training, Readiness & Exercises Division, Training & Readiness Branch located in Colorado Springs, CO. The incumbent will act as a subject matter expert for the Command for matters and programs pertaining to readiness reporting for the Command.
Duties
Oversees the delivery of Required and Recurring Training for the Major Subordinates Elements and staff.
Ensures that a training program for the use of the systems is developed and implemented for the Command.
Oversees the management of the readiness reporting programs for the Command to include the development of policies, standards, and procedures for reporting unit readiness status, both for Army and Joint requirements.
Advises command on readiness and reporting for the Organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Top Secret security clearance to be obtained and maintained for the duration of employment.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to random drug testing. Selected applicants are required to sign a DA 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing; verified positive results may be refused employment.
- This position may require travel to other duty locations up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting important public policies or programs pertaining to Army Strategic Readiness, Army Total Force Policy and Army Campaign Plan support; fulfilling mobilization, deployment, redeployment, and demobilization requirements to remain in compliance with Army Readiness and the Army Total Force Policy models; utilizing mobilization systems such as the Army Mobilization System (AMS) and the Department of the Army Mobilization Processing System (DAMPS); executing the Military Decision Making Process and cost/benefit analysis to assist in military decision making; and preparing documents for briefing senior leaders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).
