About the Position: The incumbent performs duties as an Observer Controller/Trainer (OC/T) which includes the planning, execution and conducting the evaluation of training support in order to ensure that designated organizations are at a level of proficiency that allows them to safely deploy, conduct staging/set-up operations, and to properly maintain all assigned equipment in order to ensure mission readiness and sustainment operations in the event of national emergencies or natural disasters.

Duties

Plans and executes training support functions for CBRN Response Enterprise (CRE) elements. Ensures training evaluations accurately reflects capabilities and operational readiness. Facilitate effective After Action Reviews (AARs) to assist training unit identify strength and weakness with operational concepts. Training will be structured around HAZMAT group operations incorporating the ICS command structure and HAZMAT group position and/or responsibilities. Assist the Team Chief with making pre exercise coordination contacts with training units and requesting any updated information or documentations prior to exercise dates. Incumbent also serves as a deployable CBRN Subject Matter Expert (SME) Liaison Officer (LNO) to the USARNORTH Task Force-51 (TF-51) and Main Command Post (MCP) in support of Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) operations . Ensures training evaluations accurately reflects capabilities and operational readiness of technical teams, military chemical monitoring equipment, chemical detection equipment, radiological equipment, biological detection equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Will be required to deploy within the USNORTHCOM AOR on short notice (under 24 hours).
  • Incumbent will be expected to function in adverse climatic conditions and under intense physical and mental stress.
  • Must be able to wear other personal protective equipment (PPE) or clothing such as boots, goggles, gloves, chemical mask and other safety equipment as required.
  • Must be capable, upon completion of training, of unassisted donning of mission oriented protective posture (MOPP) mask, clothing and equipment.
  • In performing the duties employees may be required to carry a cellular phone and maintain a working telephone at all times.
  • As a pre-condition of employment, any and all incumbents of this position must pass a physical examination.
  • Participation in the DOD/DA Immunization program to include live vaccinations as required by DOD/DA policy.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Failure to satisfactory complete any aspect of this process is grounds for termination.
  • This position has a travel requirement of at least 50%.
