This position is located in Yellowstone National Park, in the Division of Facilities Management and Operations.
Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately mid January to late December , and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
Duties
This position will perform a full range of work on Irrigation and Grounds and Custodial work using a variety of trades' practices such as irrigation, plumbing, grounds maintenance, cement work, and related trades.
This position will be located within the Maintenance Division in Yellowstone National Park. Elevation at Mammoth is 6,200 feet. Temperatures vary from an average of 70 degrees Fahrenheit in summer to sub-zero at times in winter. A school is available, with kindergarten through 12, in Gardiner, Montana, five miles north of headquarters. Free bus transportation is provided for school children between Mammoth and Gardiner. Many community facilities such as stores, a drugstore, day care, motels, and restaurants are available in Gardiner. A medical clinic is available in Mammoth. All other services are available within 55 to 75 miles from Mammoth.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
Ability to do the work of the Position without more than normal supervision. (SCREEN OUT)
Technical practices (Theoretical, precise, artistic).
Knowledge of materials.
Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair etc.
Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.
