About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Duties

Serve as a Food Service contract analyst and management advisor to the Food Program Manager with responsibility for providing guidance and assistance on developing performance work statements and other contract documentation. Develop, analyze, evaluate, and improve the effectiveness of work methods and procedures, acquisition and budget utilization, and management controls. Serve as technical expert during food service contract negotiations as on-going technical advisor for interpreting all matters and regulations. Ensure that dining facilities remain within the food tolerances and headcount limitations for facilities. Collect quantitative and qualitative data in significant areas related to procurement and contract operations. Perform inspections of food service operations in field, off-site, remote locations as well as traditional dining facilities and food storage areas. Prepare internal instructions, procedures, and guidelines concerning acquisition program(s) and make recommendations for incorporating methods for improvement.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

• In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
• In the event of a crisis situation or wartime, incumbent must continue to perform the duties and requirements of the position to ensure success of combat operations or to support combat essential systems subsequent to mobilization/evacuation order.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
• In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
• This position requires working mandatory overtime on some weekdays and weekends in accordance with the contract inspection schedule.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
