Duties
The incumbent assists with the coordination and implementation, in the design, development and evaluation methods relevant and important to educational techniques, SETD guidelines and USPTO policy. Assignments require interpretation and adaptation of established methodologies and guidelines to accomplish organizational return in investment through the training of external stakeholders.
Provides support to other training specialists in the design and development of new training programs, seminars, lectures, and supporting documentation (manuals, job aids, and materials) for participants SETD education and training programs.
Prepares training support documentation (manuals, job aids, and materials) for courses which may include, but is not limited to creating, formatting, printing, copying, and assembling of these, where relevant.
Contributes to the development or revision of written guidelines for work processes using a combination of training development approaches including direct observation, formation of focus for specific tasks, and pilot training modules.
Monitors and evaluates new training courses to determine the effectiveness of training modules, materials, and instructors. Identifies specific areas of need for program improvement, additional participant instruction, and assists in developing plans for dealing with supplemental training whenever necessary. Assists with preparing reports and conducting presentations on program and logistical issues.
Assists in the development and delivery of training modules. The incumbent identifies problems in training modules regarding policies and procedures to achieve standardization of training products.
Assists in the preparation of surveys to ensure training design meets the training needs of stakeholders. Prepares evaluation instruments for feedback from the participants and compiles course evaluation data and provides feedback. Assess the post training evaluation report of the participants.
Coordinates schedules of trainers for multiple concurrent classes. Arranges all logistics regarding training events, such as scheduling rooms and/or video conferences (e.g. MS Teams, Webex, etc.), instructors, audio and visual equipment, and ensures the setup is conducive to the training. Verify operability of training equipment.
Ensures up-to-date approval of final training curriculum and course content and maintains training material inventory. Prepare and provide new employee manuals.
As assigned, acts as a liaison between SETD, the Technology Centers, and other business areas to ensure that all classes are staffed with suitable experts to provide the relevant training. Disseminate appropriate pre-course information to business unit representatives, training specialists and managers in advance of training courses. Requests and compiles all objectives in advance of training courses.
