Duties

The incumbent will serve as a Program Analyst within the Planning, Analysis, & Requirements Evaluation (PARE) Directorate, Operations Support (OS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The primary purpose of this position is to provide expert advice and services on controversial and sensitive matters related to the component's planning processes, and programs that support the CBP and DHS mission. This position starts at a salary of $117,962.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $181,216.00 (GS-14 Step 10). The duties include but are not limited to the following: Directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing a major segment of a department-wide mission or administrative program. Coordinating activities of office support staff, advises and provides analytical support on problem definition, planning methodologies, policies, and procedures. Analyzing and develops planning strategies, and methodologies to determine the adequacy of agency plans, policies, and regulations. Planning, conducting or participating in special studies or task forces. Ensuring that accurate, appropriately concise and timely information is available to management and policy officials.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Advising and provide analytical support on problems, planning methodologies, policies, and procedures. Providing technical assistance to management staff in all matters relating to the application of planning systems and management systems. Advising and informs decision makers in developing, evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting policies, strategies, and practices. Advising and provide analytical support on problems, planning methodologies, policies, and procedure. Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Overseeing major segments of department-wide missions and administrative programs. Analyzing and develops planning strategies, and methodologies to determine the adequacy of policies and regulations. Organizing and coordinate thorough, systematic, professional efforts to meet complex planning needs and unanticipated requirements. Designing and administering plans and controls for submission of the budget and program resource requests.
