Duties
Serve as the CECOM Information Manager and provides automation interface/support with AMC.
Provide technical expertise regarding all aspects of information management throughout the Command, with special emphasis on creating visionary plans for future mission and business information systems.
Exercise program responsibility for development, engineering, integration, preparation, presentation, and administration of local information systems objectives, policies, programs, plans and projects for the Command.
Lead the Customer Service Centers for maintenance, repair assistance, and training in information technology resources.
Participate in a variety of internal and external forums, seminars and symposia as one of the Command's recognized experts in information management and as a focal point for coordination of information technology issues.
Review higher authority directives that require management decision and has authority to make decisions regarding policy and procedures relating to the development of systems/programs, which have a direct effect on the Command.
Perform the full range of supervisory and managerial functions. Performs position reviews and evaluations to determine if position is fully utilized or requires changes to duties to more effectively utilize the position.
Manage Information Management Resources for CECOM.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Referred candidates may be required to complete a supervisory assessment in addition to an interview.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

About the Position: In this position you will serve as the Chief Information Office for the Communication Electronics Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. You will provide vision and leadership in the development and execution of information strategies to support the mission, vision, objectives, and priorities of the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Leading an information Management program for a large organization; 2) Developing Information Management strategies to meet mission objectives; 3) Assessing organization plans to determine current and future information systems requirements (e.g., information systems, equipment, facilities, supplies, personnel, and funds); and 4) Creating information management policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or equivalent grade level position in the federal service (NH-03/GS-13).
