Are you up for an exciting challenge of working as a Case Resolution Specialist? If so, this job is for you! This position is located Office of Patent Examination Support Services (OPESS), Technical Operations Review Team. This position is established to support the patent examination process by resolving routine document processing issues that hinder the examination corps from the timely processing of patent applications.

Qualifications

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. OPM Qualifications Standards are available at OPM Website. Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-07. Candidates for the GS-9 must possess one of the following: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-7 grade level in the federal service; or a combination of graduate education AND experience equivalent the next lower GS-7 grade level that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. Specialized experience for this position includes: inspecting and validating legal documents for quality and accuracy, researching and resolving problems in the document production operations; locating, correcting and/or expediting critical Patent and Trademark orders; researching and correcting erroneous charges and preparing documentation to support refunds; and documenting findings and problem resolutions in a production environment.??????? Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.
