The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an advisor specialist, in the Command Section of assigned squadron.
Duties
Serves as the advisor on programs and initiatives within the Squadron.
Performs a variety of staff studies relating to the management of the Squadron.
Plans/conducts staff meetings as directed.
Manages Squadron support, services, and activities.
Performs a variety of administrative duties, and special projects/studies.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: I have at least one year or within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement the specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07 level, or equivalent in other federal pay systems, which includes the knowledge to analyze, develop, evaluate, improve and promote compliance with policies, plans, methods, procedures, systems or techniques associated with operations. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
OR
EDUCATION: I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your official college transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
l. Knowledge of the overall mission, functions, operations and organization; and a variety of principles and processes applicable to the work operations of a military group or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of analytical, evaluative, and planning processes, techniques and methods as applied to issues or studies involving administrative or support functions.
3. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies, and precedents applicable to group programs and related support resources or equivalent.
4. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to plan, organize work, and manage multiple taskings.
7. Ability to apply lean, safety, security, and health principles, practices, and procedures and to understand and apply internal management procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
