You will serve as a WOOD CRAFTER SUPERVISOR I in the PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will plan the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools to accomplish nuclear/non-nuclear work operations. You will use the Plan of the Day or other scheduling documents to determine critical path and other priorities. You will assign work to individual workers by verbal and/or written instructions. You will observe work in progress to anticipate and resolve problems, assure use of appropriate work practices, expedite the flow of material and equipment to and from work site, and reassign personnel supervised as determined by workload. You will inspect work in progress and inspect completed work to ensure work meet specifications. You will utilize and make input into lessons learned program to prevent reoccurrence of production problems.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• Promotion may be extended or made permanent without further competition.
