You will serve as a Wood Crafter in the Production Resources Department, Shop 64, of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will plan, layout and complete the more complex and difficult Wood Crafter projects independently. You will set up and operate a wide range of woodworking equipment and machinery. You will design, layout, and fabricate custom and production wooden items. You will interpret and apply all of the blueprints, specifications, written directives, and other guidelines of the trade. You will use all of the tools, equipment, and measuring instruments of the trade properly and safely. You will visualize the item to be made, compute dimensions, make templates and patterns, and plan sequence of work.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.
